The 2011 Super Senior League Seasons will begin organizing April 10th!
Captains have until April 29th to register their gender-based teams by paying a refundable deposit via the MCTA on-line Store, and filing a signed, 2011 Captain's Commitment Form (only necessary if one has not already been filed for another 2011 league program). Match play will begin the week of May 16 so that more matches can play in Spring weather. The season may extend to the end of July depending on league size, and if so every attempt will be made to schedule later matches at Wheaton Indoor Tennis Center, which is air-conditioned.
Note these changes beginning in 2011:
- local leagues will be organized on a combined rating basis (6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0). This mirrors the format used at National Championships and aligns MCTA's program with new Mid-Atlantic Section rules for Super Senior programs. Sectional championships also will follow the combined rating format.
- the Super Senior leagues are re-named to relfect their minimum age requirement: Super Senior-60 for those 60 years of age or older, and Super Senior-65 for those 65 years of age or older. The latter reflects national regulations reorganizing the Super Senior programs along these age divisions.
