A Note from Chuck Carter President of the Montgomery County Tennis and Education Foundation:
Dear Friends of Tennis in Montgomery County, Md.;
Greetings!
I am excited to serve as the first President of the Montgomery County Tennis and Education Foundation (MCTEF). The IRS recognizes MCTEF as a 501c (3) charitable organization, and as such contributions to MCTEF are tax deductible to the donor.
We envision MCTEF playing a critical supporting role in Montgomery County Tennis Association’s efforts to introduce tennis, or expand tennis playing opportunities, to all youth in Montgomery County. By reaching out to MCTA members; the broader tennis-playing community; and to grant-making corporations, foundations, or governmental entities who share our vision for teaching life skills and mentoring young people through tennis, MCTEF strives to generate additional resources to support relevant tennis and mentoring programming in public parks, schools, and the like.
Our support has the potential to take any number of forms—from outright program management to funding high-quality programs organized by others, to providing scholarship assistance to children in need who otherwise could not afford to participate in established tennis programs in their communities. Our focus is on recreational tennis programs for Montgomery County youth. MCTEF does not offer financial aid to develop “high performance” players who need intensive, personal coaching and tournament-travel experience.
Please take a moment to review the webpages that more fully describe MCTEF’s activities. After doing so, we urge you to consider a tax-deductible cash contribution and/or giving your time to MCTEF to support our mentoring and outreach efforts. If you are an individual, we welcome your support at any dollar amount you feel comfortable in contributing. If you are a grant-giving corporation or foundation, we urge you to contact us regarding program sponsorship opportunities.
Tennis has played a pivotal role in my personal development throughout my life, as I suspect it has in yours. Won’t you please help MCTEF expose the next generation to the many positive attributes that tennis can contribute to their lives?
